Despite the icy conditions here in Richmond, the General Assembly was still hard at work on behalf of Virginians! This week was packed with committee meetings, press conferences, and taking actions on the House floor. Because of the weather, many constituents were unable to make it down to visit the Capitol this week, but I am looking forward to welcoming you all to my office in the coming weeks to continue discussing your priorities and gathering your feedback. We’ve just wrapped up the second week of session! I had a busy and productive week meeting with advocacy groups from around Virginia, chairing my first subcommittee meetings, presenting my first bills of the session, and participating in activities throughout the General Assembly building.  In addition to being appointed Vice Chair of the Public Safety Committee, I have also been appointed Chairwoman of two subcommittees on General Laws: Procurement & Open Government and Subcommittee #5. We just wrapped up the first week of the 2026 General Assembly Session! I have had the opportunity to meet with constituents, attend my first committee meetings and press conferences of the year, and proudly vote in favor of important constitutional amendments. I am also tremendously honored to have been named Vice Chair of the House Public Safety Committee. This has been an exciting first week back and I have several updates to share with you. Legislative Updates On Wednesday, four important constitutional amendments passed the house floor. I proudly voted in favor of HJ 1, HJ 2, HJ 3, and HJ 4.
