We just wrapped up the seventh week of session! I am particularly excited to announce that this week, two of my bills (HB330 and HB1405) have passed the Senate! These bills will now be sent to Governor Spanberger’s desk for review. Each of these bills demonstrate my commitment to the people of Arlington and the Commonwealth by strengthening public safety, promoting civic engagement, investing in transportation, supporting Arlington tourism and businesses, and working towards a more affordable Virginia. I have had a busy week presenting bills before the Senate, meeting with constituents and advocacy groups, and attending committee meetings. Keep reading below for more updates! Legislative Updates I started my week with HB20 reporting out of the Senate Commerce and Labor committee. This bill would finally provide our farmworkers with long overdue […]
We just wrapped up the first week of Crossover! We are officially a little over halfway through the 2026 Legislative Session. This week we cast our final votes on the House floor, just in time for Crossover this Wednesday. “Crossover” is when all the bills that have passed the House go through (or crossover to) the Senate for further consideration, and vice versa. Bills must pass both chambers before being sent to the Governor for final approval. I am particularly happy to announce that five more of my bills (HB82, HB524, HB527, HB838, and HB1405) all passed through the House this week. That means that a grand total of fifteen of my bills have passed the House this session! My 16th bill, HB839, was continued to 2026 with a letter from the Speaker. […]

Happy (almost) Valentine’s Day! I hope tomorrow brings a little extra love and comfort into your weekend. Every year, the General Assembly celebrates Love Day with sweets, flowers, and gifts—especially to show appreciation to our administrative assistants and staff! I was busy this morning with my House colleagues handing out candy and gifts to our Legislative Support Staff, Capitol Police, Clerk Staff, and Pages throughout the building. I have also had the pleasure of welcoming constituents and advocacy groups into my office this week. With Crossover rapidly approaching, we have had to race against the clock to hear all public testimony, discuss bills thoroughly, and cast our votes before they hit the House floor.  I am especially excited to announce that this week, six […]
We just wrapped up the fourth week of session! I am particularly happy to announce that this week, three of my bills (HB329, HB330, and HB331) all passed the House. Each one delivers on my commitment to protect the rights of Virginia’s tenants, find sustainable, dedicated funding for transportation, and ensure justice for all.  With most of the snow and ice gone, it was great to welcome constituents back in my office this week. I have been putting in 12+ hour days to complete our work before Crossover. That means really long subcommittee and committee meetings to ensure that we hear all public testimony, discuss bills thoroughly, and cast our votes before they hit the House floor.  Keep reading to find out what I have been […]
